Aashna Thakkar
Secretary
Aashna Thakkar is a rising junior at South Plainfield High School in South Plainfield, New Jersey. She became interested in environmental activism when she did an experiment in biology, in which she used elephant poop to grow leaves and eventually larger plants. From it, she quickly realized how important it is to care for the land and water that surrounds us as well as the creatures that allow us to live, and just overall how much we take Earth for granted. As an individual who is also involved in UNICEF’s efforts, she hopes to make the world a cleaner place for future generations, and believes the only way to truly start is by educating the current generation.

Bashir Rashid is a rising senior from New York City interested in helping the environment by using his software development skills. He came across The Green Cause while he was researching volunteering opportunities where he could apply his skills. Bashir aims to help create a cleaner world by helping children access vital knowledge about the environment.
Kathryn Dillman
Social Media Head
Kathryn Dillman is a 17 year old artist and who spends her time petting animals, daydreaming, and sipping warm cups of coffee. Her ultimate desire is to pursue environmental sciences and use her art as an outlet to raise awareness for pressing environmental issues. Currently, she is the New Jersey Student Sustainability Artistic Activism Coordinator, looking to ameliorate the state of the planet in creative ways. She also works at BBPB NJ, Covalence, and Youth.ify.
Shreya Nara
Events
Shreya Nara is a junior at the Academy for Information Technology at the Union County Vocational-Technical schools. She became interested in the environmental field after getting inspired by a book called The Rule of Five, written by Harvard Law professor Richard Lazarus. After learning about the Green Cause through an email, she was more than eager to join and share her passion for the environment with her community.

Chapter Coordinator
Eha Agrawal is a chapter coordinator for the Green cause. She is a senior in WWP High school South and is located in Princeton, NJ. She is interested in agricultural sciences and how the changing climate affects it. She strongly believes in the organization’s core values of environmental justice, advocacy, and equity for the youth and generations to come.

Nitesh Reddy Medapati is a senior at John P. Stevens High School, Edison, NJ. He joined The Green Cause to contribute to a healthier and cleaner planet for future generations.

Gabrielle Warren is a lesson review coordinator for the Green Cause. She is from the South Florida region and is a junior at Park Vista High School. She joined the Green Cause because she wanted to help educate and raise awareness about the environment in order to help make the planet healthier for future generations.

Farzeen Mahmood is an upcoming junior at Westwood High School in Austin, Texas. In her free time, she likes to dance and read. She became passionate about the environment after realizing how many people take the Earth and its plentiful resources for granted. She found out about The Green Cause when searching for volunteering opportunities to grow her skills, and she strives to educate others about the beauties of the environment and why it is so important to take care of it.

Amira Mustafa is a rising senior at Clifton High School and a Lesson Review Coordinator for The Green Cause. She hopes to follow in her father’s footsteps and be as close to the planet as he was. Amira joined The Green Cause because she believes that environmental justice and awareness are highly crucial for the future of our home.

Su Pyone is currently a senior from Los Angeles, California. Her position is the volunteer coordinator and she is so excited to see how the organization will continue through all people’s hard work! She joined the Green Cause because she knows all the members are doing a very great job trying to better our environment and she wants to become a part of it.

Sarah Phillips is a rising senior at Conestoga High School (Berwyn, PA) primarily interested in anthropology, psychology, and neuroscience, as well as in how knowledge in those areas might be used to elicit more concern/awareness regarding environmental crises.
Cassie Mitova
Social Media Head
Cassie Mitova is a rising senior in Princeton NJ, and one of the team Leads for The Green Cause. She joined the Social Media team to combine her desire to create—from graphics to blogs to skits—with her desire to join the fight against climate change. She believes that the most important part of it is to weave green policies into international regulations, and that The Green Cause is the best place to start.
Nishi Agrawal
Event Coordinator
Nishi Agrawal is a rising junior in Edison NJ, and one of the team Leads for The Green Cause. She is extremely passionate about sustainable technology and working towards a more eco-friendly future. By showing youth how they can help in the battle against climate change and promoting awareness of these critical issues in communities around the world, the Green Cause is setting the stage for a greener future filled with advocacy.
Thomas Wu
Volunteer Coordinator
Thomas Wu is currently a rising junior from Santa Clara California. He was first introduced to the environmental subject through outdoor experiences including backpacking, hiking, kayaking, and other activities. These experiences eventually shaped his overall passion towards the environment and fostered his interest in studying human relationships with local environments. Thomas is primarily passionate about intersectionalities between social justice and climate movements, centering climate efforts around marginalized communities. With the Green Cause, he looks forward to collaborating with youth to empower the voices of young generations in climate justice fields.
Sonia Garg
Lesson Review Coordinator
Sonia Garg is a senior at Woodbridge Academy Magnet School for Allied Health and first joined the Green Cause as a sophomore. A passion for science and medicine drives her advocacy for holistic wellness across communities. Her appreciation for nature is rooted in an active lifestyle. From organizing free medical camps to leading her Red Cross chapter, she integrates social accountability across her multifaceted endeavors and strives for a sustainable future for generations to come.
Shreyaah Iyer
Lead Coordinator
Shreyaah Iyer is a Lead Coordinator for the Green Cause. She is from central New Jersey, and is a senior at John P. Stevens High School. She is extremely passionate about the environment and believes in giving a voice to younger generations so they can advocate for it. Currently, she is also a part of her school’s Greenhouse club and works on a research project at her state university focused on removing PFAS chemicals from drinking water.
